Today{24th November}, besides being Thanksgiving in the United
States (Happy Thanksgiving!), is the birthday of Softball. On
Thanksgiving Day in 1887, the forerunner of softball was
played at the Farragut Boat Club in Chicago, Illinois. Known
as indoor baseball, it was invented by George Hancock.
