Lieutenant Harold Harris bailed out of his crippled test plane
at Dayton, Ohio, but was saved by using a parachute. He thus
became the first member of the Caterpillar Club (people saved
by parachutes). The name "Caterpillar Club" refers to the silk
threads that made the original parachutes, thus recognizing
the debt owed to the silk worm. "Life depends on a silken
thread" is the club's motto.
Today's Inspirational Quote:
"You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not
always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once
but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have
because history has shown us that courage can be contagious
and hope can take on a life of its own."
