Did you know...... that today{11th July} is Advice-to-the-Lovelorn Day? In 1896, the first advice-to-the-lovelorn column was published in the "New Orleans Picayune." Known as the Mother Confessor to Millions, Dorothy Dix's column ran in 300 newspapers for 55 years. Trivia buffs: As the forerunner of today's popular advice columnists, Dorothy Dix was America's highest paid and most widely read female journalist at the time of her death.
